Album y En Ventura:<3 Vol.1

LP006 2009 This joint album brings the band together with En Ventura, whose debut LP Los Gandharvas was considered the best mexican album in 2008 by multiple blogs, and which, in this case, Album reworks in a peculiar way. In what’s described as Karaokee Mashup, the original songs are stripped of their vocals, and reimagined completely as a whole new batch of songs. Contains Invierno, Leyla, Como la Cancion and Bulshit.

Quantization Proclamation

EP007 2009 With Quantization Proclamation, Album goes back to form with what might seem as their most natural, and riveting, sounding pieces of work since 2006. Hailed as one of the best independent releases of 2009 we find the band at their best, and consolidating their status as a must-hear cult item of Mexican music. Contains Jesus Quantizo mi beatbox, no diga eso and adivanar. Also available in 5.1 Digital Surround Sound.

Cancer Baby

LP005 2008 The most experimental (read “accesible”) Album album to date deals in a dreamy world of synth pop and mellow tunes, and is also considered the band’s best work yet by critics. Another entry in year best-of lists of 2008 and also considered one of the top records of the 00’s decade in latin rock. Definteively a must hear. Contains Stab You, Some People Get Rich, amaramA and one of the decade’s top songs Es Teatro Griego.

LP003 2007 An account of the musical scene of Monterrey as seen through Album’s own ears. Divided in 4 movements, this work finds the band reworking, reproducing, covering and remixing tracks of their own as well as some of the most prominent bands at the time in their native city in northern mexico. A crafty collection of songs that work, both, as an album and as a landmark of a special place and time in mexican music history. Contains Aqui, Yate del Amor, and Sistema Perfecto / Amarillo.

Debajo de la Avalancha Vol.1

EP006 2007 An avid continuation to Microbricolages, this EP was created as an Album Mailinglist exclusive download. Recorded as a concept album, where the band imagine themselves trapped under an avalanche in a distant cabin in the mountains slowly turning themselves into something different. An excelent addition to the evergrowing Album catalogue, one of the most concise works the band has offered. Contains Waiting on Baby G and Je Ne Comprends Pas.

Microbricolages

LP002 2006 The critically acclaimed sophomore effort by Album has the band compared to Beastie Boys, Café Tacuba and The Beatles. In what NY Time Out described as a confident, polished appropriation of pop detritus from everywhere and everywhen is an album that marks the beggining of 21st Century Rock as the genre of a generation. One of the top releases in mexico’s 2006 independent scene. Includes Es Facil, Er Bender, La mas rapida… and Moog esta muerto….

Eureka Sön

LP001 2003 The debut LP which garnered attention from international media, and pioneered the digital free download format in Mexico. Named UMFM’s independent album of the year in 2004, and a not to miss item in mexican rock from the 00’s, this is the music that started it all, and earned the band a hype in the NY Times.
